By Hesketh Prichard (1900)
Hesketh Prichard was a famed cricketer and explorer at the turn of the 20th century, when he was commissioned to write a travelogue of Haiti. At this point, the internal goings-on of Haiti were not well-known to much of the world, and Prichard viewed the island nation as a true frontier.
His record of traveling through Haiti is a harrowing one. Many scenes of voodoo, cannibalism, and government dysfunction mirror those seen today in the "Black Republic."
Despite immense popularity upon its release, Where Black Rules White: Hayti has long been out of print. It is presented here in a 5.5"x8.5" paperback, newly typeset and edited, as a resource for historical study.
